Whether
your mother is becoming forgetful and you’re worried that she lives alone or
your favorite uncle has just broken a hip and needs help at home and getting to
therapy, Maturity Concepts is a resource for you – working with you as much or
as little as you need…every step of the way.
Step
One: Assessing the Situation
The
experienced care managers at Maturity Concepts will help you objectively
evaluate the situation first – knowing that some of the decisions you will be
making are not easy ones, especially if your loved one is resistant to change.
The team
will carefully assess your loved one’s needs, always striving to maintain
independence and dignity for the individual. In cooperation with the person’s
doctors, we will evaluate how well your loved one is living by looking at
everything from home safety to the ability of the person to care for himself or
herself - from daily meals, bathing, and medicine management to overall
mobility issues.
Then
What? The Choice is Yours
After the assessment, the team will share with you our findings and recommendations for the care of your loved one, taking into consideration your family members’ unique psychological, physical, and financial situation.
After
presented with these recommendations, you decide what comes next. Maturity
Concepts can simply identify appropriate care options and providers of those
services who have proven track-records for providing top-quality care… or we can
develop a comprehensive Care Plan and assist with its implementation to the
degree you desire.
If you
choose an ongoing relationship with your Maturity Concepts care team, we not
only coordinate care, but we become an extension of your family-professionals in
whom you can confide without fear of being judged or made to feel guilty about
the emotions you’re experiencing.
Your team at Maturity Concepts certainly understands that love isn’t always easy. We’re here simply to make it easier for you to love…and to care.
No matter
how much you may love your parents or grandparents, caring for them if they
become ill may present a far greater challenge than you could ever anticipate.
Even if care seems simple in the beginning-a few trips to the doctor or buying a
cane – it doesn’t always stay that way.
As more
and more people are living longer, the time horizon for this additional
responsibility in your life gets longer, too. But, because your loved one needs
help, you feel a sense of obligation to care for this person who cared for you.
And, sometimes you even feel guilty because you lose your patience or don’t feel
you have all the answers to best care for this person…and you don’t know where
to turn. Physical distance increases the challenge.
Maturity
Concepts has a joint focus to make the lives of caregivers easier and to
maximize the quality of care and independence for the person who is ill or
aging.
With a team of nurses and professional care managers, Maturity Concepts is a resource for families providing a full range of services that are tailored to meet the needs of each family.
